Dora’s dilemna illustrates conflicts
we all have. When we want to be, have, or do something that does not
match the beliefs we hold about ourselves, our unconscious minds will
block us. When the desired result is around the corner, it may send
out danger signals in the form of a flood of fear or anxiety, or create
tension and pain in the body, or block the neural pathways to stored
memory so your mind goes blank or gets scrambled.
When you program the
belief that you are no good at something – and the truth is that your
mind and body are capable of doing it – your unconscious mind is a faithful
employee. It does what it is told – and you don’t get what you want.
Henry Ford stated it in simple words, “Whether you believe you can or
you believe you can’t, you are right.”
